About Connect Ohio
Connect Ohio is a public-private partnership that partners with technology-minded businesses, government entities and universities to accelerate technology in the state and close the digital divide.
Connect Ohio is a comprehensive initiative that will blanket Ohio with broadband Internet access and dramatically improve the use of related technology. The program is the result of a partnership between the State of Ohio and Connected Nation, a national non-profit organization that specializes in increasing technology access and literacy.
Connect Ohio will work across all sectors of the state economy in partnership with telecommunications providers, information technology companies, public agencies, business leaders, community leaders, researchers and universities in an effort to meet specific goals, which include:
- Affordable broadband availability for all of Ohio;
- Dramatically improved use of computers and the Internet by all Ohioans;
- Local technology planning teams that include every Ohio community;
- A meaningful Internet presence in all Ohio communities, to improve citizen services and promote economic development through e-government, virtual education and e-health solutions; and
- A policy and regulatory framework that encourages continued investment in communications and information technologies year after year.
About Connect Ohio Steering Committee
The Connect Ohio public-private partnership offers YOU the opportunity to change the face of technology in Ohio by helping to guide the work of the state’s first comprehensive, statewide broadband expansion initiative. Your participation as part of the Connect Ohio Steering Committee will provide an environment for interactions that support and generate both statewide and regional economic development across Ohio.
As a Connect Ohio partner, you will have the opportunity to:
- Aggregate support for the goals of Connect Ohio, reviewing and identifying strategies for encouraging computer and broadband adoption, collaborating to solve Ohio’s technology-related challenges, and deploying broadband services in response to gaps in coverage as identified by eCommunity teams;
- Gain exclusive access to monthly publications that keep your company or organization connected to relevant technology activity;
- Acquire expert consulting support for your organization’s technology projects; and
- Receive public recognition for your organization’s role in accelerating broadband availability and use across Ohio.
